31-IFS-1012 - Pie Safe Cabinet Woodworking Plan.
Long before iceboxes became a common household item, frugal homemakers everywhere stored their bread and pastries in a pie safe. The decorative punched-tin panels allowed ventilation while protecting baked goods. It also added a little spice to the kitchens decor. You can buy pre-punched tin panels or use the instructions we provide to punch your own, or you can opt to use wood panels or any combination of both.
