This pine bench is decorated with heart and wheat cut outs. As an option you could leave that out or pattern your own design. The bench is 36 inches long. The narrow design is ideal for a hall or entryway. The seat is hinged to allow for storage underneath.

The hinged seat of this hall bench lifts for access to a lower compartment which holds blankets, umbrellas and mittens. The upper compartment provides a place for your phone and keys. The tilt down door keeps the phone book out of sight. Wait... do they still print phone books?!?

The hinged seat opens to reveal a generous storage compartment for umbrellas and gloves. The plan shows a simple method of upholstering the panels in the seat and back. It also includes patterns showing how to add arm rests to the bench if desired.

The gentle curves in the bottom and back make this porch swing very comfortable to sit in. The swing can be hung from a porch ceiling. If a porch is not available, an arbor structure will do the task, see our plan #W2278 for an appropriate sized arbor structure.
