04-FS-138 - First Trains Scroll Saw Pattern

First Trains woodworking plans - Two early trains that led the way. Here are two of the first trains to pave the way for modern railroading. The Trevithick, developed by Richard Trevithick and the Rocket, machined by George Stevenson take us to the early 1800s when steam engines began to replace horse pulled carriages in England. The plans detail building both trains including tender cars, a bridge base and ties and rails characteristic of the first rail lines. A switching signal and name plaques complete the package. Since information is sketchy from this era, the designs are loosely based on dozens of drawings and sketches from locomotive publications and internet images.
