18-FD-166 - Mission American Cradles Woodworking Plan - 2 designs, 1 price!
Either cradle depicted by these plans would be a perfect piece to add to your Early American or Colonial American collection. The same plan you purchase will detail how to make a cradle using either spindle or panel sides, as pictured. The spindle spacing meets the federal safety requirements and both feature a locking key so that swinging can be disabled. No special hardware needed. We rate these cradles to be intermediate level projects, but the motivated beginner can have success in making these heirlooms as well with patience. This is a blueprint style plan which is heralded by beginners and experts alike as being a pleasure to work from because all parts are printed in full size -- all joinery is shown in actual size, curved workpieces are all in full size, therefore you can measure and trace straight from the drawing if necessary. A list of materials doubles as an exact cutting list, there is a detailed exploded diagram, and all hardware requirements are provided. The exploded diagram is so detailed that project specific assembly instructions are not provided. A special booklet entitled Guide to Building Wood Furniture is included with each plan and it includes many tips explaining the component theory of woodworking.Finished Dimensions: Height: 30 inches (76.2 cm) Width: 39 inches (99.1 cm) Depth: 20 inches (50.8 cm)
