Toy Soldier Downloadable Jigsaw Scrollsaw Woodworking Plan PDF
The classic toy soldier stands guard for the gifts under the tree. This project stands 36 inches (914 mm) tall and 10-1/2 inches (267 mm) wide. Cut from one piece of plywood and paint, or as an option, make it in layers by cutting the silhouette of the soldier and then cutting out all the parts of the uniform from smaller pieces of scrap wood, paint all parts and then glue together. Beginner skill level. Easily scale the pattern on your printer to make the size you want. A perfect beginner project for scouting, guides and 4H Club woodworking projects.

Dinosaur Rocker Vintage Woodworking Plan
You can dig up all the material you need at a local home center or lumber yard to put together this prehistoric project. Even your child can help in the construction because all part outlines are shown in full-size on the plan. Simply trace the parts to pine lumber, cut out with a saber or jig saw and assemble with glue and wood screws. A color scheme of green for the body, yellow for the rocker stand and eyes, red for the neck and tail plates and blue for the seat and handle bar is suggested, but you may also use semi-transparent stains to let the wood grain show through. The dinosaur is sized for toddlers to six-year-olds. This is a vintage woodworking plan. Visit our FAQ page for a full definition. Six-Board Chest Vintage Woodworking Plan
Even a simple project like this is a series of smaller assemblies. First, you build a four sided box. Before glueing it together you build the tray that fits inside. Then you build the lid and bottom to match. With the box built, you then turn to the feet. This is a vintage woodworking plan. Visit our FAQ page for a full definition. Panels, Making Wide
Often we need to build a project that requires a large solid wood panel, such as a tabletop or cabinet door. As we all know, lumber comes in different widths but, often the required size is not available. This is one reason why we glue together smaller boards to make a large one. This process is referred to as lamination. Of course, you can purchase laminated panels but ...

Clamp, Small Parts
When gluing and clamping small parts together, it is always a challenge to align large clamps to hold them in place as the glue dries. To make this job easier, I built the small parts clamp you see in the photo.

Salt and Pepper Shakers
Start by deciding on your design. Ours is very contemporary with a simple rounded top and three small beads at the bottom. You may prefer something a bit more elaborate. Turn one or a few sets at a time out of full 2 inches x 2 inches or glued-up stock, as you prefer. Remember to leave glued-up stock clamped together for at least 24 hours before turning.

Press for gluing stacked bowl blanks
Until recently, I used my drill press to clamp layers of wood together for vases or bowl blanks. Problem is, the drill press is not really designed for this task, and I actually bent the rack gear on a large drill press doing it. After that, I decided there had to be a better and less expensive way.

Clamp, Shop Made Small
Recently, I was gluing up some small assemblies and needed a way to hold them together until the glue set up. I soon ran through my collection of small clamps. That is when I came up with the shop-built design you see in the drawing.

Potting Bench
This is a link to a Google 3D SketchUp drawing for a gardeners potting bench made from 2 X 4s connected together with glued mortise and tenon joints. You will need the SketchUp software to download this drawing and its freely available online. We do not provide support for this software. Not all drawings have the measurements displayed but you can use the measurement tool in SketchUp to easily and accurately determine the dimensions of each lumber part. Most drawings do not have instructions, its assumed you can build it based on the completed drawing provided.

Jig, Drill Press Pocket Hole
The pocket hole joint is one of the easiest joints to make. This joint is much faster and simpler than dowel joints because you only drill the hole in one of the pieces you need to join. You simply apply some glue, clamp the pieces together, and insert the screw.

Christmas Tree Ornaments, Hollow
By Brad Vietje - Most people who turn hollow ornaments turn a batch of globes with a standard size hole, then a batch of spindles, or icicles, then glue the two together off the lathe. The results are usually beautiful, but I wanted an ornament that ran true with tight glue joints so I could cut through the join to create a smooth flow from globe to spindle.

Jig, Sharpening - Lathe Gouge tool
By Joe in a Cleveland Suburb - A couple of weeks ago I asked about making your own sharpening jig. You all pointed me to several resources. I put all that together and came up with this version. All I did was take scrap pieces of walnut, a couple cherry plywood shorts, and some scrap poplar, glued and screwed it all together and here it is! (Not dimensions, and little instruction, but there are good pictures. Enough info to help you make your own.)

A geometric challenge. The building block in this intriguing puzzle is a single shape, glued together in pairs to form eight parts. Many puzzle solutions are possible.

Router Table
The carcass is made of 3/4 inches oak plywood, with screws and biscuits holding it together. The top is two layers of plywood glued and screwed, with a sheet of Formica laminate glued to the top with contact cement. I paid extra attention to making the top of the carcass flat and even.

Window Seat, Paneled (PDF)
You start by building a simple plywood box. A sheet of plywood and a little bit of basic joinery is all it takes. Next, you cover this shell with solid-wood framing and add some traditional molding. Glue, brads, and a handful of screws hold it all together. In no time, the basic plywood box is transformed into a classic. The cutting diagrams and materials list are available to download in this Online Extra.

Ammunition Box - Small Arms
The British Army 560-cartridge small arms ammunition box of the period was a wooden box with a sliding lid section on the top. It was held together by brass self-tapping screws and glued.
