 | Clocks, Ogee Bracket Feet for Ogee bracket feet are common on tall clocks and drop front desks. Ogee is the name of the molding on the sides of the feet. Only the two front feet and the visible sides of the rear feet have the ogee molding - the rear feet are usually flat in the back so the piece can sit against the wall.

 | Alpine Wood Train Set Scrollsaw Woodworking Plan With the enormous popularity of wood trains, we announce a new plan from one of our designers. Build a deluxe train set for a youngster’s first train! Constructed primarily of wood and packed full of details. The scene is set in the Swiss alpine mountains, nestled at the base of the Matterhorn. Featuring three 5 car trains and a trolley that travel through Swiss farmland, over a trestle and into four tunnels. There are dozens of features including delightful Swiss houses, a mill, water tower, a Swiss chapel, barn, clock tower, and dozens of placements for pine trees and cows. The trains are housed in drawers in the centre compartment. The sides fold up for fast, convenient and compact storage under a bed or back of the closet. But we think this design is too beautiful to be kept in storage! The trains and tracks are designed to be compatible with numerous commercial wooden train tracks in the marketplace. This project pattern package includes diorama line art of Swiss scenery, useable for both sides of the divider (backdrop). A full colour guide is included in the instructions but feel free to colour it however you want. Extra buildings, trees and cows can be left unattached so that the children can be creative in designing their own Alpine town. When opened the size is 52 inches wide, 29 inches deep and 9-1/2 inches wide. When closed up, 29 inches wide, 25-1/4 inches wide and 5-1/4 inches thick. Total carrying weight is approximately 24 pounds but that will depend on what types of wood species you decide to use when building your projects.

 | Jig, Fluting Router - for turned spindles By John Lucas - Several years ago I built a jig for my router so that I could cut flutes in spindles that were turned on the lathe. I did this because I needed to make a fluted split turning for an antique clock. It worked great.

 | Molding, Goose Neck - How to make (PDF) Gooseneck or Swans neck molding is traditionally found at the top of grandfather clocks, highboys, and other Queen Anne style furniture. It has usually been hand carved or made with a combination of custom made router bits. Our method uses stock MLCS table edge bits and some imagination to produce moldings with great depth and detail.

 | Clock, Craftsman A while ago, my wife gave me one of those Craftsman (Sears) clocks, made from a replica 10-inch circular saw blade. Since then, I have been trying to decide the best way to display it. Just hanging it on the wall, as was the original design intent, was an option. Being a woodworker with a shop full of equipment, I felt obligated to explore more creative ideas.
