Table, Tip and Turn (PDF)
When you see this table for the first time, it is hard to know where to focus your attention. Between the figured veneer of the top, the graceful curves of the legs, and the six-sided column, there are plenty of things to catch your eye. The cutting diagrams and materials list are available to download in this Online Extra.

Strip Laminate Bending
At one time or another, you may have avoided making a project with curved components, simply because you didn not know how to go about bending the wood. Perhaps you wanted to create some curved legs for a table or a curved arm for a chair. Strip laminating gives you a simple, down-to-earth way to form curves in wood.

Table, Puzzle - One Board
This is a low table for sitting on the floor in the Japanese fashion. It is made from six parts, all cut from the same piece of 4x4 finish-grade plywood in a manner intended to minimize wastage. The principle is simple: You cut a circle out of a square and make legs from the corners.

Tables, Nested (PDF)
The center table of this nest of three is, unusually, a hollow box. Contrasting ends on all the tables accentuate the leg design, these being all hollow box sections. The main surfaces are all 6mm standard birch ply, but the ends can be your choice of timber.

Table, Fauxbius
The failure of modern design is elitist pricing...A case in point: I noticed this end table, pretentiously dubbed Moebius...As a demonstration of this absurdity, I set out to reproduce the concept of the table, using hardware-store parts, at a fraction of the cost, without losing any of the functional or aesthetic appeal of the original.

Table, Concord
The Concord Table, also known as the candle stand table, is a traditional American Favorite. Our version lends itself to being a gift project because, by using a lathe duplicator, you can easily produce multiple spindles.

Table Top, Making the Round, Solid - Free Online Video
Woodsmith No. 154 features a 12-sided plywood top for the Tip and Turn Table. Here is another design for the table top; it is round, and made of solid wood rather than plywood. This alternate top is made using a router and some common router bits.

Table, Craftsman - Large (PDF)
The simple design of this table allows you to easily modify the size and create a table with maybe a different purpose, but an equally attractive appearance. If you take a look at the drawing, you will see that all I did was make the square footprint of the table slightly larger. Instead of two vertical slats between the rails the table now has three. All of the joinery and construction techniques stay exactly the same. This alternate design option is available to download in this Online Extra.

Table, Side
Waste not want not is the theme for this project. The pallets I used to build my other projects yielded unused 4 inch x 4 inch boards. I also had a fair amount of warped boards that were not usable. This table is my way of addressing those issues. I managed to use up four of the 4 inch x 4 inch boards on the legs and the top is made up of warped boards doubled up on each other.

Pipe Clamp Stand
The stands, shown in the photo, give the clamps a very stable footing, as well as creating extra clearance for the handle. Thus I was able to put an end to the handle cranking clearance and stability problems by making some stands for my pipe clamps.

Workstand, Mobile
This simple workstand is both stable and mobile. It provides a great surface for cutting, routing, sanding, assembly etc. You can roll it around your workspace by simply tipping one end a few degrees to engage the wheels. In the resting position, the wheels are disengaged and this is the key to its stability. There are no obstructions on the underside of the worktop which allows for efficient clamping. These mobile workstands work very well in pairs, so after you finish your first one, you may want to build another!

Chest, Two Tier (PDF)
Australian Woodsmith is a practical magazine for all woodworkers. From Issue 43. As you can see in the photo, the elegant shelf added to the top of the chest looks right at home. The secret is that all of the design elements used on the shelf mirror those on the chest below. The result is a shelf that is a perfect complement.

Table, Pallet II
This project was a fundamental design change from the first table. I opted for a solid piece of furniture for this table. I also choose not to hand plane the boards for this project, because I was gluing up panels I wanted more consistency. Instead of a hand plane I used a OPT. A OPT is Other Persons Tool. My friend Dave has a planer and a jointer, so I went to his house and we were able to plane 8 pallets in no time. So I am starting off with a stack of planed lumber and an idea. The first step was gluing up panels.

Wooden Faced Wristwatch
I have a thing for watches, and nicely figured wood, sadly I have only been able to find a couple of wood based watches. It sounded like a lovely weekend project to fab up a new face for a regular watch, so I went for it.
