Cabinet, Buffet - Wine (PDF) Australian Woodsmith is a practical magazine for all woodworkers. From Issue 43. One of the best features of the wine server in Australian Woodsmith No. 43 is that it is modular. Everything from the insides, to the base is designed to be modified and adapted to your needs. A striking way to do this is to triple the size of the server and turn it into a buffet.

Rack, Wine We used to have a simple wine rack with a storage capacity of 30 bottles; plenty for our limited consumption. But when we came back from a wine tour to Penticton in British Columbia we suddenly had to store an additional 5 cases of wine (60 bottles). The design you see here is what I wanted to make. It has a capacity of 162 bottles: 16 per square and 6 per triangle. The one I actually made is 10 inches lower due to limited storage space under our stairs, and holds 144 bottles. This is actually an easy project, but I classified it as moderate as it requires very accurate cutting of the panels. You need Adobe SVG View software to view the plan diagrams.
Rack, Wine Since most wine gets better with age, wine enthusiasts need a method to store their bottles. Here you will find a free plan for a remarkably simple wall-mounted bottle storage rack that attractively displays your collection. We describe several layouts to maximize the use of available wall space. The design employs efficient use of materials; you will not believe that you can securely hold so many bottles with so little wood.

Rack, Wine - Countertop (PDF) One thing that really attracted me to this wine rack is its modular design. Besides the great stand-alone project, it is just as easy to expand it into the wine server or buffet that are described in this issue. But it is not just for storing wine. You can use it as a foundation for a number of storage options. Building two or more of these basic units allows you to combine them in different ways. The cutting diagrams and materials list are available to download in this Online Extra.
