Doll Cradle Item Number: 15-1164

Thought you might enjoy this pic of your doll bed. I
made this for my granddaughter, Katie, for her one
year old birthday. I didn't imagine her sitting in it
but she did right away and she really likes it. She
even rocks it herself.
I stuck to the plans for the most part but I
countersunk the screw holes and used 5/16" dowel
plugs, or whatever you call them. I also clamped the
two runners together and power sanded the bottoms so
they matched exactly.
Next time, I would clamp or screw the wood together
and cut them as one matching pair. I also used my
scroll saw for the whole thing but I should have cut
the straight cuts and especially bevel cuts on the
table saw.
I also cut the little fancy corner designs on the side
boards as part of the sides-one piece, and not a
separate piece to be screwed on. Seemed to make more
sense to me that way.
Sanded and rounded all edges, primed-white primer
spray, painted white spray non-glossy, sanded, painted
2nd coat white, fine sanded, apply stickers (covered
any blemishes with stickers), several coats of spray
clear top-coat.
The picture is yours to use if you like. I am
inspired to try another one of your plans.
- She looks very pleased! I love the butterfly detail, very artistic! - Jim

Hi Jim, I finished the project of my twins bedroom. The castle I did without a plan and your race car plan was changed. I used 10
millimeter MDF and the mattress is on pine wood. I add few picturs for you and want to thank you for the idea. - Udi Harel, Israel
- Awesome job on both projects! The castle is a wonderful addition to the bedroom furniture. I'm sure the kids will enjoy it for years. Sweet dreams! - Jim

Plan #15-6235 Race Car Bed - Downloadable!
I'll start by saying that I am a welder by trade and
don't really have much experience in the wood shop but very much enjoy trying projects with any material. Unlike metal, wood isn't as forgiving
as metal. The plans that were available from your website were very easy to read and with a little common sense, they were understandable. This
was a birthday present for my son that turned two today. I worked on the bed a couple of hours a day after work for about a week. The results,
were very admirable as you will see for yourself. I had neighbors coming over watching the progress I had made throughout the week. I have had
two offers to build more. Thank you for supplying me with the plans for an awesome looking bed. With this confidence of woodworking that I have
now, I will definately be using your site for future projects. You really have no idea at how happy I have made my son & wife with this bed.
I'm sending a few pics and you guys can post which ever our all of them. The bed was painted to match the Georgia Bulldog theme he has in his
bedroom. I also am a bit of an artist so I painted the extra graphics to give it a little more UGA touch. Again, thanks!! - Joseph Maddox, other pics; pic 2, pic 3, pic 4
- You did an excellent job for a beginner! Seems like your boy enjoys it very much. Great paint job too. - Jim

Plan #11-1139 Nativity Shadow, 3-D - 3 Designs!
Hey Jim, I was able to complete the project on
one weekend. It took less than 2 full sheets (4 ft by 8 ft) of plywood. I did use 3/4 inch which I think was the right way to go. I
painted the 3 sheets first. Merry Christmas! - John Davidson
- Excellent! And you did a wonderful job setting the scene with the hay, jute cloth and framing. Happy Holidays! - Jim

Plan #11-1719 Critters Tangle - 2 designs included!
Janet also purchased Dog Sled Delivery and Santa Claus Greeter
Thank you for such fast service! I love my woodworking plans that I ordered. I have finished two out of three
of my Christmas ones and I'm tempted to order more. I have a big yard. My husband and I are Grandparents now and
that makes decorating for any holiday brand new again. My husband cut out one of the patterns and he taught me to
cut out the other one. He was very interested in the painting progress. I love to paint! I use to just paint clay
flower pots but this is way more fun! I love having something in my yard that no one else has. ...
My husband rushed out to buy spot lights for me. Your prices are very reasonable and the service very fast.
Thanks again. Janet Barkley in NC
- That's a great pattern Janet! Makes me laugh every time I see it. Great job both of you! - Jim

Plan #15-1361 Four Post Bed
Hi Jim, The plans were fine. I built a
conventional queen bed as you can see from the picture. It did take a little study time to determine correct build
path. I did make a few modifications along the way. I liked the way the cut dimensions were outlined. It made cutting
to spec easy. The written step by step instructions were less clear and more of an outline form would be easier to
follow than paragraph form. One dimension that I found missing or incomplete was for the corners of the plywood
decking. I used a 3”x3” corner dimension and it provided a snug fit. Instead of 4x4 posts I used cedar deck posts.
Worked great. I also made cabinets under the bed versus the pedestal in the plans. I did use the pedestal dimensions
for the base and then made the cabinet modifications from there.
I am slowly making a set of furniture using simple designs and cedar closet lining material. So I used that same
look for the head board. It provided a terrific match. Hope this helps. I am looking for a set of armoire plans to
hide a television set so if one is available that would be great. Thanks and let me know what you think of the
outcome. - Chris Jackson
- Looks great Chris! I'll pass along your comments to the plan designer. - Jim
